Bracelet Fitting

Once you have received your bracelet you can adjust it to fit your particular wrist. The bracelets are shaped to fit most wrists, but often people will want to make minor adjustments to their bracelet. There is room within each bracelet size for a looser or tighter fit, while still being able to take it on and off without bending it. Here are some basic guidelines for fitting your bracelet:

First, if you have a thin curved bracelet, the 351, we think it’s a more graceful look if the curve lies down towards the fingers. Hold the bracelet between your thumb and pointer finger; then put your new bracelet on sideways on the thumb side above the wrist bone. That is at the narrowest place. You can do this by essentially hooking the bracelet end onto the tendons at the bottom of your wrist and roll it over the top of your wrist. Then slide it down toward the hand so it rests over the joint, right at the base of the palm of your hand. That is where gravity would normally have it, and where a cuff bracelet wears best.

Next, look at the shape of the bracelet; I want it to end up the same shape as your individual wrist. If it is either sloppy or tight from side to side, it needs to be bent in the center of the bracelet. Remove the bracelet by sliding it up again, and peal it off toward the thumb side and bend it in or out. A little bend does a lot. Put it back on from the thumb side and see if it needs more of the same.

If it is too loose or too tight on the front or back, bend the two ends either way. When finished the bracelet shape should be the same shape as your wrist, with a little air around it. A cuff bracelet is a tailored fit, with a comfortable amount of movement, not too sloppy or too tight. There should also be enough resistance when you take it on or off to be secure. Now that it fits and is in place on your wrist, it should not turn off easily there. You should have to slide it up to the narrow part to take it off. If it does turn off too easily in place, you probably need to exchange it for one size longer. The longer bracelet can have the same fit, but be long enough at the ends not to come off when you don’t want it to.

On the other hand, if the bracelet has such a small gap it is too hard to get on you should exchange it for one size smaller. By making these adjustments now you will have a more comfortable bracelet, and you won’t have to bend it each time you wear it. That daily bending is what harms a bracelet over time. Try all these tips a few times to get familiar with the procedure. We're sure you will be happy and have a well fitting comfortable bracelet that you will enjoy for many years to come.
